Happy New Year!
I think everyone goes through times when they wonder if what they are doing matters out there. Well, leave it to an e-mail like this to reassure me in the kindest, most heartwarming way that someone is out there appreciating our books... What a lovely way to begin a new year.
Dear Marianne,
I really would love to start off by saying I love all your work and what you do! You are an inspiration and it comes off in your writing…. I work with the Children’s Heart Network (CHN) in Vancouver BC, Canada! I purchased “The Gift of an Angel” after I found out my little girl was going to be born without a left ventricle. It was a very hard time! Honestly your book helped us through some of the hard times.
I read her your book everyday while she was in hospital (more than once a day). We had to travel away from home to deliver her and her surgery, and we were gone for just over 2 months. Anyways now, the only way she will fall asleep is if we read her the book! I get shivers when I read the book! Something amazing happened, and every time I read it I thank God for the angels He sent us. We read the book while I was pregnant, and when we would read it once she was born, even with her being paralyzed (it is a form of treatment, last resort) her heart rate would still calm down! It helped her very much. It might have even saved her life. If her blood pressure or heart rate was to fast or too high for to long, then more problems would arise ... Anyways, I love your books! Everything about them! Much Appreciated! Nancy
Even though my message isn't as powerful as the one above, I have to say I have been touched by your work as well. I love all of your books, but The Gift of a Memory and The Gift of an Angel are two books I keep on hand to give as gifts at a moments notice when a friend loses a loved one or has a new baby. In fact, I found your blog tonight, because I am having a hard time finding them. This has never happened before, and I have to admit that I'm a bit worried. Please don't ever stop printing these timeless, classic books. They are wonderful!
